"We do it for the children alone, kenbe la" - MikaBen

KENBE LA
Kenbe La means ‘Never Give Up’ in Haitian Creole. It's a message we all need to hear, right - hang in there, don't give up.

We don't always have a choice about what happens in life, but we do have a choice how we respond.

LYRICS
The track is in English, French and Haitian Creole:
“Kenbe La” [ken-bay lah] = “never give up”
“L'union fait la force” = “Unity creates strength”
“Sak pase? Nap boule!” [sark-parsay, nup boo-lay]
= “What's up?” with the reply “We're doing great!”

A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED THEIR WORK

about

New Zealander Emily Sanson-Rejouis set up the Kenbe La Foundation after her husband, Emmanuel, and their two young ... more daughters, Kofie-Jade and Zenzie, perished in the Haiti earthquake on 12 January 2010.

Kenbe La honours Emmanuel's passion and dream to help disadvantaged children of his native Haiti – giving them the opportunity for access to education, and a chance to develop their own potential. less
